The Art of Foot Massage Workshop
The Art of Foot Massage Workshop
The Art of Foot Massage Workshop is a relaxed, practical day open to complete beginners as well as qualified therapists who would like to develop their confidence and add some new foot massage techniques to their existing treatments.
Learn to Give a Wonderful Foot Massage – No Previous Experience Needed
Our feet work hard every day, carrying us through thousands of steps, adapting to different surfaces and supporting us in almost everything we do – yet they are often one of the most neglected parts of the body. A good foot massage can be incredibly relaxing, and it is also a wonderfully accessible skill to learn.
If you have never massaged anyone before, we will guide you through everything step by step. You might want to learn simply to give a relaxing massage to your partner, friends or family, or perhaps you are curious about massage and would like to try something practical without committing to a professional qualification.
If you are already a therapist, you may find that feet are an area you tend to move through fairly quickly within a full-body treatment! This workshop gives you an opportunity to slow down, focus entirely on the feet and develop a wider range of techniques that you can incorporate into your existing work.
Throughout the day you will learn a complete foot massage that you can confidently recreate afterwards, while also understanding how individual techniques can be adapted rather than feeling that you always have to follow a set routine.
There will be plenty of time to practise, ask questions and – importantly – experience the massage yourself. And if you are learning so you can practise on friends and family, we suspect you may suddenly find yourself considerably more popular!
Give Your Feet the Attention They Deserve
You don’t need to become a massage therapist to discover how rewarding therapeutic touch can be. Sometimes it is simply about learning something new, slowing down and discovering how much can be communicated through our hands.
Spend a day learning, practising and receiving a wonderfully relaxing foot massage – then take your new skills home and keep using them.
Just be prepared for everyone to start volunteering their feet for practice.
Why you should train with us
Learning massage should be enjoyable.
At the School of Bodywork, we provide professional massage training, but we also love introducing people to the simple pleasure and connection that can come from therapeutic touch.
You don’t need any previous experience for this workshop and you certainly don’t need to worry about being “good at massage” before you arrive. Our role is to guide you through the techniques gradually and give you plenty of time to practise so that you leave feeling comfortable using what you have learned.
For qualified therapists, the day offers an opportunity to step away from your usual routine, focus specifically on the feet and pick up additional techniques and ideas to bring back into your own treatments.
We also pay attention to you as the person giving the massage, helping you think about positioning and body use so that the treatment feels comfortable for both you and the person receiving it.
Course overview
This one-day practical workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of giving an effective and deeply relaxing foot massage.

Entry requirements
No previous massage experience or qualifications are required.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners who would like to learn foot massage for friends, family or personal interest.
It is also open to qualified massage and bodywork therapists who would like to develop their foot massage skills and add more variety to their existing treatments.
Please note that this is a recreational workshop and does not qualify someone without an existing professional massage qualification to practise professionally or offer paid massage treatments.
Course Format
This is a relaxed, practical one-day workshop running from 10:30am – 4:30pm.
You will spend much of the day working in pairs, both giving and receiving massage so that you can experience the techniques from both perspectives.
There will be demonstrations throughout the day followed by plenty of time for supervised practice.
Supporting Your Learning Afterwards
We know it can be difficult to remember everything once you get home, so your learning doesn’t have to end when the workshop finishes.
You will receive:
- Access to video demonstrations of the techniques after the workshop.
- The opportunity to revisit the videos and practise at your own pace.
Assessments
There is no formal assessment.
This is an informal practical workshop designed for enjoyment, confidence and skills development.
Your tutor will be available throughout the day to offer guidance and feedback while you practise.
Qualification & Accreditation
This is a recreational skills workshop rather than a professional massage qualification.
A Certificate of Attendance will be provided on completion of the workshop.
Qualified therapists may wish to retain this for their CPD records
FAQs
I’ve never done any massage before. Is this suitable for me?
Absolutely. The workshop has been designed to be accessible to complete beginners. Everything will be demonstrated and taught step by step, with plenty of time to practise and ask questions.
I’m already a massage therapist. Will the workshop be too basic for me?
The safety and introductory theory will naturally be familiar to you, but the practical focus of the day gives you an opportunity to develop a wider range of techniques specifically for the feet.
If you are looking for a more clinical exploration of foot anatomy, movement, assessment and treatment, you may prefer our postgraduate Functional Foot workshop.
Do I have to bring someone with me?
No. You are very welcome to book on your own and we will pair students appropriately for practical work. However, if you would like to come with a friend, partner or family member, you can book two places together for the reduced price of £199.
Will I be able to give a full foot massage after the workshop?
Yes. The aim is for you to leave with a complete foot massage that you can practise afterwards, as well as individual techniques that can be adapted and used separately.
You will also have access to video demonstrations after the workshop to help you remember what you learned.
Can I charge people for foot massage after completing this workshop?
Not if you don’t already hold an appropriate professional massage/bodywork qualification.
This workshop is designed to teach beginners a skill they can safely enjoy with friends and family. It is not a professional massage qualification.
Qualified therapists can incorporate the techniques into their existing professional practice, subject to their usual insurance and scope of practice.
