Support Your Clients with Confidence and Compassion

This 3-day in-person training, combined with comprehensive pre-course online learning, will equip you with the essential knowledge and skills to confidently and safely support clients at every stage of their cancer journey.

Developed by experienced practitioner Lisa Tate, this course draws on her 14 years of  working with cancer patients in both hospice environments and private practice. Lisa brings a wealth of practical insight and clinical understanding to guide you through this specialist area of bodywork.

Why This Course Matters

Despite growing awareness, the myth that massage can spread cancer is still far too common. At the School of Bodywork, our mission is to empower therapists with the education and confidence to offer safe, effective treatment to everyone—including people with cancer.

Massage can bring incredible physical and emotional relief for those undergoing treatment or living with the aftereffects of cancer. But it's vital to adapt your approach with informed care, and that’s exactly what this Diploma offers you.

Cancer myth

“Lisa was wonderful – So knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I felt I could ask her any questions. The online content was so helpful to be a starting point for the practical course. Thank you for sharing your passion & knowledge, providing me with the confidence to adapt treatments and share therapeutic massage with even more people!”

What Makes This Course Different

Unlike many oncology massage courses that teach only a simple light-touch, full-body routine, we focus on truly understanding the individual and their unique needs. This course enables you to tailor every treatment to suit each client—wherever they are on their cancer journey—rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach. You will develop the clinical reasoning and sensitivity required to treat each person holistically, with care, skill, and confidence.
