Introduction to Myofasical Release Workshop

A very big welcome (or welcome back!) to the School of Bodywork, we sincerely hope you enjoy your day with us and find the techniques and information you gather on this Introductory workshop useful and interesting.

We are passionate about therapists embracing their individuality and this workshop is no different. Louise will share her experience and techniques that she feels are a good foundation to this work for you to take away and perhaps integrate into your current practice. We hope that after this workshop you are inspired to join us for the full Myofascial Release Practitioner Diploma which delves much deeper into the subject.

One more note about the School - we are here to support you on every step of your journey – please just ask if you need help and we will endeavour to find a way to support you.

Your Tutor

My name is Louise Mockford, and I am the School Principal and Tutor on this
workshop and the full Diploma course. I have been a bodywork therapist for over 15 years, initially qualifying as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist, and spent many years before this teaching about the biomechanics between horse and rider.

My studies evolved into human bodywork and coupled with my interest in Psychology, after completing an Honours Degree as a mature student in 2007, I firmly believe that hands on therapy is the best approach to help others physically, psychologically, and emotionally and fascial work in particular addresses all these factors.

It is a beautiful and profound modality that enhances our communication and palpatory skills and can unlock so much within the body and mind.

Lou Bio Pic

I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience as both Principal and Tutor at the School of Bodywork. I always aim to bring a fun, informal style of teaching to the classroom, and hope that students feel able to approach me with any questions or concerns. Each of you as students will have your own individual style that I encourage you to bring to your work to be therapists with authenticity in your approach to bodywork – this matters for you as a therapist and to your clients. Being a good therapist is so much more than simply applying techniques and I also encourage development of interpersonal skills to take away to your clinical practice.

You can contact me on 07711 656011 or louise@schoolofbodywork.com

Please note that the information provided is a very brief overview of the fascial system and Myofascial Release. We will delve much deeper into the fascia and the latest developments in our understanding throughout the full Diploma course.

This is designed as a taster to give you a solid introduction to this type of work.
