Here at the School of Bodywork we strongly advocate peer support and keeping us all connected. It is very easy for us to become isolated in our work and this can cause us to, not only lose our passion for what we do, but also even the most basic of our skills can become a bit rusty! We are all guilty of slipping into bad habits!

So these Skills Enhancement Days are an opportunity for therapists to come together, and brush up on techniques with guidance from a tutor should it be needed, share any questions you have about your practice and give and receive treatment, in a fun and relaxed environment.

The only pre-requisite is that you are already a Level 3 Massage Therapist at a minimum - everyone is welcome, from just qualified to been in practice for years; anyone lacking confidence, to being already well-established; Holistic Massage Therapists, Sports Massage Therapists, Remedial Therapists, Myofascial Release Therapists... the more the merrier! You don't have to have trained with us before either - we are always happy to see new faces and welcome back old students!

Whatever your situation, the School of Bodywork is here to help you move forward with our Skills Enhancement Day!  We always encourage you to develop your own unique style, encouraging many hands-free methods when appropriate, with body mechanics and therapist longevity always at the heart of what we do.

So come along and join our community - it is invaluable to our development as therapists to connect in this way.

Skills day

This Skills Enhancement CPD day will be a very practical and informal, flexible and fun day, tailored to what the group needs. Some examples of what might be covered include:

Reviewing massage techniques

Myofascial Release Massage techniques review.

Looking at posture and body mechanics.

Helping with the consultation process.

Discussing specific client’s conditions relating to your own practice.

Client care and handling..

Adaptation of massage to suit individual clients.

Enhance your business knowledge to renew your energy and attract and retain your ideal clients.

An opportunity to benefit from a treatment or two on the day!

Honestly I was unsure I would learn anything- but how wrong I was. Felt very included by all, relaxed and good learning environment. So a big thank you.

If you are unable to attend this in-person training day, we can offer Bespoke Training on a one to one basis or one to two basis at a time to suit you. This might also be a preferable option if you have specific training needs that might not involve hands-on tuition as we can offer this online via zoom. For example, you may need help with your business planning and developing, or advice on a particular pathology or client you may be working with.

Refresher Training Day

It's great to connect with other therapists when you work on your own. It's also good to have a tutor present to teach you new techniques or to answer questions. Enjoyed the day and the affordability made it accessible for me.

LS

I enjoyed the day enormously. I will take away a number of really useful new tips and reinforcements of existing practice and the overall atmostphere was safe and supportive providing the opportunity to share and communicate easily. Thank you!

All of the tutors were very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very approachable. I learnt such a lot and have taken away with me lots of new ideas to try out. Thank you so much. Brilliant facilities - very clean, warm and comfortable. A brilliant opportunity to network with other professionals and to share skills and techniques. Also great for building confidence for newly trained practitioners and top tips offered for starting a new business - invaluable advice offered by tutors and other attendants and gratefully received. Thank you.
